Cookie Policy

Cookies are small records held by your browser. Local storage and session storage can also remember a choice or support a feature. Some third-party resources transmit information such as your IP address when loaded, even if they do not set a cookie.

Account sign-in and security storage help authenticate you and protect the service. Browser storage can also retain a listing or claim draft, recent searches, the welcome-message preference, and a location or geocoding result when you use the related feature. If you save places in Travel, shoplocal.travel-trip.v1 stores your destination shortlist in this browser until you clear the trip or your browser data. The shortlist is not synced to your account.

ShopLocal stores your cookie choice under shoplocal.cookie-consent.v1 for up to 180 days. Session drafts and location data normally last for the browser-tab session. Other preference storage may remain until you clear it. Essential identifiers may be linked to your account; they are not necessarily anonymous.

Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept optional analytics. It can use identifiers such as _ga and related cookies to measure site use. Our optional vacation-page and affiliate-click measurements follow the same analytics choice.

You can choose Essential only, Accept analytics, or Customize. Refusing analytics does not prevent browsing, signing in, claiming a listing or making a payment. We do not enable Google advertising personalization through this analytics configuration.

ShopLocal is under review for Google AdSense. Where ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and device identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, with applicable consent, personalization. See Google’s explanation of advertising technologies.

Our Essential only and Accept analytics buttons currently control optional analytics. They do not constitute consent for personalized advertising. Required advertising consent controls must be configured before Google ads are served, including a Google-certified consent platform for visitors in regions where Google requires it.

No Google advertising script is activated by publishing ads.txt. That file identifies the authorized advertising seller; it does not set advertising cookies.

Affiliate cards display booking links without loading passive advertising-network impression pixels.

When you choose an affiliate link, you leave ShopLocal and may pass through CJ or another identified network before reaching Booking.com, Vrbo or another identified booking provider. The network or booking provider may use its own tracking under its own policies. Our cookie choice does not control storage on another website.

Stripe Checkout and its billing portal may use storage and device information necessary for payment processing, fraud prevention and features you request. These are governed by Stripe’s policies.

Select Cookie settings in the footer or below to reopen your preferences. If you withdraw analytics consent after accepting, we stop our analytics, attempt to remove accessible Google Analytics cookies and reload the page to unload the analytics script.

You may need to make a separate choice on another browser or device. Clearing browser storage can remove your saved preference and cause the notice to appear again. Browser controls can remove additional cookies but may also sign you out or remove saved drafts. Essential platform and security processing continues as described in the Privacy Policy.

Contact info@shoplocal.website if you have questions about a storage item or a privacy choice. We will revise this policy and the consent controls as the site’s use of these technologies changes.
